1 month to go...

and I still have TONS to do!

Z and I spent all day Saturday at a Marriage Seminar hosted by our church. In all honesty I think I got alot more out of it than he did, but thats only because he's already studied alot of the scripture that we were learning from. I personally learned alot :) I'm ready to take on the role of being his wife, and doing everything I can to love him and support him in everything he does, and make sure that he knows how much I thank God every minute of every day for bringing us together. I hope and pray that God will give me the ability to be the kind of wife he needs and deserves.

I'm sure there were 10,000 things he would have rather been doing than sitting in a class for 9 hours hearing things he already knew, but it meant alot that he went with me anyway, without even a moment's hesitation. Granted, he and Tim were the comic relief of the class a few times, but I think it was very helpful in laying the foundations for a strong marriage. We learned about communication, our respective roles in the family, among other things. We are not perfect, we will make mistakes, but we also love and forgive each other and that makes it so much easier to keep a happy home.

So with one month to go, I still have tons to do, and not enough time to do it all, but in the end, all that really matters is us, and the rest is just icing on the cake.....and hopefully I'll be able to have a picture of what THAT will look like soon. I actually found a camouflage cake for him :D

Tonight I'll hopefully get the invitations finished and my veil completed. Then I will move on to the ring pillows and flower girl baskets. I have NO clue what I'm gonna do for those yet!

The Location

Our church is very small and we meet in a Christian School, so we don't have a "church" to get married in. I wanted to find something very quaint and intimate and not spend a fortune. We found the Colleyville Nature Center, in Colleyville, TX. They have an amphitheatre outdoors that is perfect. Even better---it is FREE. Totally FREE! All I have to do is make sure it is clean when we leave :D

This is the bridge you cross over to get to the amphitheatre.

This is the "alter" area up front. I'm looking for some sort of arch, pedestals, or something to use up here with flowers or something....

This is the view from the front alter looking out into where the audience is. By November this should be in fall yellows and oranges.

These last two are views to the left, then to the right of the center aisle standing at the alter looking back towards the audience.

The Flowers

I made my bouquet with silk hydrangeas and roses and baby's breath. Since we're getting married on Veteran's Day, I wanted a red/white/blue color scheme. (well actually more like crimson, off-white, and Air Force Blue). Total cost of the bouquet:
Hydrangeas (2) @ 7.99 each
Roses (1 stem) @ 3.99 each
baby's breath (1 stem) @ 2.99 each

Ribbon--
Red wide ribbon- 50 yards @ 7.99 for spool
Ivory ribbon- 100 yards @ 5.99 for spool
Blue ribbon - 5 yards @ 3.99 for spool

Floral Wire-.25 per package

all purchased at Garden Ridge

The Dress

Purchased in March at David's Bridal. I got a steal on this one. Originally $799, I got it for 300. That included the slip, bra, and a blusher add-on for my veil. This picture is white, but my dress is champagne in color

We're getting married!!

I figured this is the best place and way to keep up with all the wedding plans, especially since time is of SHORT supply!
